How to Make a Pad of Paper

Paper Padding

Padding presses are used for binding loose pieces of paper with adhesive to create an attractive pad of paper. Stacks of paper are placed in a large vice and are then clamped into place. While in the padding machine, padding compound (padding adhesive) is applied to the back edge of the paper stack using of a padding brush. Once the bind is dry, the stack of paper is removed and can be cut down to size. Padding presses are user friendly and widely used by schools, churches, real estate offices, binderies, and virtually anyone else in the binding industry.

How to Make a Pad of Paper:

What You Will Need:

• A Padding Press Machine
• Stack of Paper
• Appropriate Padding Glue for your application
• Padding Brush
• Padding Knife (Optional)
• Pad Counter (Optional)
• Chipboard (Optional)
• Paper Jogger (Optional)

How to Make A Pad of Paper:

Jog your stack of paper so that the edges are squared. If using a large stack, we recommend using a Paper Jogger to jog the sheets quickly and easily. If you are using Chipboard for a back cover, place this on the bottom of the stack.

 

With the backing to your Padding Machine in place, set your stack of paper tightly against it with the clamp board on top. Clamp the paper and board together.

 

Remove the backing to your Padding Machine and apply the appropriate kind of glue to the edges using your padding brush. You will want to saturate the edges, but do not apply so much that the glue drips.

 

Wait for the padding glue to dry. Depending on the padding glue you are using, this can take anywhere from 10-30 minutes. If using red padding compound the color will change from a pinkish tint to a red tint once it is dry. Apply a second coat, if necessary. While the padding compound is drying, wash your padding brush.

 

Once your padding glue is dry, loosen the clamps and remove your pad of paper. If you choose, use the optional padding knife to cut and separate your large pad into smaller pads.

can i stick a dry erase board with self stick pads to a painted wall without ruining it?

i have a dry erase board and the only way to hang it up is with these self adhesive stick pads that it came with, and i need to hang it on my wall. i want to be able to remove it someday without peeling off or ruining the paint. is that possible?

Possiby but it kinda depends on the type of paint you have on the walls. The glossier the finish the more chance you have. But I'm gonna say that it wouldnt be easy by any means. Otherwise the thing would constantly fall down.
