looking for correct plastic adhesive?
I have a 1960 Scott outboard that has a cracked plastic cowling. The cowling is not molded fiberglass. It is a smooth both sides, thin (approx 1/16" thick) off white plastic that is brittle enough to chip and crack and epoxy will not stick to it. Does anyone have any idea what this material is and what adhesive will work to mend a large crack?
The cowl has gone past its use by date. The UV has made the plastic go brittle an no amount of glue will fix it. you might be able to fix it enough to make a mould to cast a fibreglass copy
