How to properly adhere a two-layer wedding invitation together?

I'm making a flat double layer wedding invite and I'm wondering which would be the best way to go about mounting the cardstock together. I'm going to be making about 100-150 invites, so I'm looking for something that would be simple enough to apply assembly line style.

I've tried to research this before but I find so many different ideas it's hard to focus on one.

Is double sided tape the best to use? If so what type and how do you apply it?

I've seen a few people mention a Xyron 510 machine to apply adhesive, but I know nothing about it.

What works best for you??

overwhelming the amount of ideas there are out there isn't it?

double sided tape is fine. xyron would be really expensive and if you're not worried about spending the time to apply tape you should use that.
i have used adhesive spray as well which works great but it is a bit expensive for a lot of invites so only use if you have to (for vellum top sheets because you cant see it)

applying the tape - for a one of affair like you are doin i would apply 4 strips nearly the lentgh of each side. from top left corner to nearly the top right, from top R corner down to bot R, etc.

I personally am stingy with my tape and would prob do 6 small 1" strips, 2 top corners, 2 bot corners + 2 middle.

do not use a glue it will warp your card.
