Is there something that can be placed under a table lamp that will help prevent what is called ...?

... Again? I several cats who run the house sometimes, chasing each other. Several times they have managed to topple one of the final table lamps. There was no damage to the light (so far), but we had a broken light bulb. The tables are made of fine wood. I wonder if something similar to pad "sticky" (found on your car dashboard, and you can set your cell phone and it does not fall) for lamps or other objects of the table? Velcro thought, but I think that holding the tape in place can damage the wood. Lowe did see today in the section of armor against children, thinking that there might be something to prevent a child to draw a lamp itself well, but saw nothing that would work. Velcro certainly work, but could potentially cause damage to both wood and lamp. Better solution is to use what is known as a wax museum wax or earthquake, which is a kind of putty (also available in gel form) used to secure items so they do not move during earthquakes. It is easy to use (just mix with your fingers and put between the lamp and the table), and generally easy to remove, but you can try some on a table surface that is not visible in the first place if it is completed is fragile. In areas not earthquake, this type of caulk is often used in college dorms to hang posters on the wall, and may be called Plastitack. Living in TN, if your local hardware store has a section of an earthquake (which are technically in a seismic zone, because the New Madrid fault), try the section where the brackets and other items to hang pictures and see if they are held there. I have cats with similar practices and something that I also find helpful is to put a rubber mat anti-slip points slip wood surfaces (such as vase I have in mind the piano). Use pieces of carpet pad (the type used to hold carpet in place) or smaller places are often used to open the bottles - anything to reduce friction and keep items from moving. Obviously, this only works for objects that can slide and will not help things that really reversed. There are materials such as you describe, straps that prevent young children throwing TVs and other objects, or to secure heavy objects during earthquakes, but they must be "stuck" two in the table and the element and would probably be too light, unless you have a cat very dangerous or very large and active.
