Coloring for zombie makeup?

When I do my zombie makeup I usually use elmer's glue and tissue to make the dead flaking skin and then put my colors on top of the skin. The only problem is the tissue is very white and when I do my usual pale pasty green with gray accents I'm not sure it looks right. So I was wondering if I should do a base coat of a tan color to go over the tissue first and then add the green to give it that undead hue.
What do you think?
*laughs* I use the glue on my skin all the time. It peels right off just like latex does. My makeup usually looks pretty awesome I was just unsure because I'm treaching a room full of people how to do this.

Yeah. That sounds just about right. Just don't put the glue on your skin....or in your mouth, please!!!! Oh and a hint, maybe you should take a cream eyeshadow and put it around your eyes, and eyeliner, so it looks more....'tired'.
