What is a good adhesive remover for car paint? - Wheel well trim strip adhesive?

I have a 98 civic and I took the wheel well trim strip off of all 4 sides, but there is still adhesive from the strip, mixed with black foam from the strip also still stuck there. It's an eye sore, and I want to remove it. I need a good adhesive remover, that is not likely to mess up the paint / haze it.

Any advice??
I used 70% rubbing alcohol like one of the posters suggested, and it helps slightly, but there are pieces that are so hard that I would need an acid or something. Still, any suggestions?

use brake fluid,it is costic enough to remove the adhesive but it will not harm the paint,thats what i have used for 20 years for everything from bumper stickers to just cleaning the grease of my fender when i get it messy:)
