Envelopes and laser printers?

I am using a laser printer to print out envelopes for our wedding invitations. I would like to send the envelopes through the printer twice (to have the return address on the back top flap) but I heard that it's not good to put envelopes through laser printers twice. I'm guessing something with the glue?

Anyone have any experience with this and know if it will be fine if I do it? I really don't think it will do anything, but I don't want to ruin the envelopes.

Yes, its not advisable, because the glue will melt. You may not only destroy the envelope, but may spoil your printer as well. This is because the glue gets heated and pressed between rollers (that's how they fuse the toner onto the paper). The glue may ooze out and screw up your fuser and that's expensive to replace.

I'd suggest that you run it thru once to get your main address done, then run it thru an inkjet printer to print the smaller return address behind.

If you really really need to do it with a laser, leaving it overnight so that the glue is not sticky may help, but that's still running a risk with your laser fuser.
