To understand how to buy golf club components, you first need to know how these parts work and what they are in the first place. So let's begin in this way. If you know the parts already, treat this portion as a short review of Golf 101.

The Grip

The grip of the golf club is important because it is the extension of the golfer's hands. According to the rules of golf, the grip has to be round, without obvious pockmarks which detract significantly from the roundness.

The Shaft

Some unscrupulous golf component vendors use a sacrificial laminate process, involving grinding the outside of the shaft. By cutting the fibers on the surface, energy and feel are lost. Solution: Look for a high grade modulus shaft fiber which results in very little loss of energy from your hands to the clubface.

Can anyone explain LEGO sizes?

I can't seem to get a simple answer anywhere on the internet, so I'll try you good folks. Someone will surely know.

My grandson loves Legos! He has a decent set, but wants more with the windows, doors, people, etc. He gets really excited about the themed sets he sees in the store, but these are always little tiny Lego blocks that my husband ends up gluing together, and then they get broken, lost and ultimately, thrown away.

The set my grandson really enjoys playing with has pieces that are (the smallest) about 1 1/4 inch square and about 3/4 inch thick. They go up in size from there.

I've also seen Lego people advertised, but do they also come in different sizes?

I need guidance here, and thanks very much for any help.

It sounds like your grandson enjoys the Duplo brand of LEGO toys, based on the sizes you described.

Basically, Duplo is designed for ages 0-4 years old, and then 4 and up are other themes, which are the small pieces you are describing.

The nice thing is that Duplo is compatible with the stadard LEGO parts, so you can continue to use them, even as your collection adds newer and smaller parts.
