Which glue (if any) would hold the velcro of a Darth Vader mask?

I have an old and quite rare Don Post Darth Vader mask which I bought back in 2000 over the years the velcro on the two piece plastic mask has come unstuck, yesterday I made the silly mistake of trying to fix one of the strips back in the helmet with normal glue.

Because of the sheer hold of the velcro the glue was as useless as the Millennium Falcon trying to get out of the hold of the Death Stars Tractor Beam.

Am I correct in thinking that from now on the mask should have pride of place on my shelf or is their any adhesive strong enough to hold velcro together so I can wear the helmet once more.

You can replace the old velcro with new velcro. You should be about to find it a hobby shops, fabric stores, & department stores (not sure if you have Walmart or Target in your neck of the woods). I did this to repair a pair of my daughter's shoes when the velcro had fallen apart & it worked like a charm. It comes in all types of colors, so try and find some the same color as the old velcro.
