How to get vinyl flooring glue off?

We just scraped the vinyl flooring off in our house but what could we use to get the rubber glue that is stuck onto the concrete floor? Paint thinner?
It's taking forever to get off and I'm literally scraping it off with this 4 inch puny scraping tool. The adhesive is kind of rubbery and I'm about to die not getting this whole thing cleared out. Once it's cleared I'm going to put ceramic tile on it.

Good news for you.. Since your doing ceramic tile, all you ll have to do is get any of the larger lumps and any loose glue up. Any good thin set will bond tile to it and any bare cement. In good thin set I mean the step about the normal 15$ a bag latex thin set. You ll need an extra day or two of setting time before walking and grouting the tile. The thin set will dry slower since the cement is " sealed" and the moisture has no way to dry normally. The alternative is a special heat gun and heating the glue and still scrapping.
