High speed label applicator - Solving simple problems

The average person does not look at the labels that are on their everyday products. But the labeling process can be a long and complicated procedure requiring many specific sets of requirements. Labeling a box of cheese crackers may not be hard, but let's say you're labeling hot dog buns or a soft cookie package, you don't want a machine that is going to crush or break the products. You need enough pressure for the label to bond its adhesive to the package, but not enough to ruin the product.

Buns and rolls aren't the only challenges facing labeling machines. Today's products come in an almost limitless variety of shapes and sizes, from plastic clamshells to liquid-filled pouches. But most manufacturers simply don't have the floor space to house one labeling machine per product. For that reason, modern labeling machines must adapt to a diverse assortment of settings.

Sometimes the machines themselves are edited and altered; sometimes it's the conveyers, and others it's the packaging that's altered. It all depends on that needs of the company. Most companies will simply alter the machine if they have the capabilities to do that. Flexible package labeling machines are made to apply labels without bubbles or wrinkles, these could handle multiple surfaces.

The requirements of box and carton labeling may seem simple and easy to apply because most of the packaging has straight flat sides and rigid surfaces. Even with that ease of labeling, this type of package has the largest variety of styles and shapes for its label applicators. The kind of applicator depends where the applicator is actually placed, how many need placed, and if the machine can be added into existing machines instead of creating new programs and software.

Thanks to new advancements in labeling machines, manufacturers can even embed RFID transponders into individual products. These track the products from the factory to store shelves and provide important information about where products originate, when they were created and where they're being used.

When you look into renting or purchasing labeling equipment, make sure it is a certified company under Packaging Machine Manufacturers Institute. This will ensure you get the best possible product.

Seeking inspiration to design a new brand and food label?

I am seeking inspiration to design a new brand and food label for a range of bacon and ham joints, which will be sold in multiple retail, the brand positioning is trustworthy, honest, affordable taste appeal for all. Its not bargain basement cheap, nor is it premium gourmet, but very much in the middle, for family, mainstream, traditionalist appeal.

Because of legislative requirements that must go on the front of the adhesive label, the actual area I have to work with to include the brand/logo plus the name of the product is about 2cm high by 8cm long. The range will consits of 5 products, so will probably have to come up with 5 colour backgrounds into which the brand fits.

Anyway thats probably too much detail for where I am now, its really just inspiration I need at the moment.
