oak stairs (2nd question)?

Thanks for repling to my first question however I have a 2nd question. I am replacing my stairs which are just pine boards to oak treads.Can I use liquid nails and just glue the thread to the 3 beams on the stair case.Also how far should the stairs hang over the riser(to avoid tripping).

Always use finish nails.Liquid nails will turn loose after a year or so and be dangerous to you and your family.I install wood floors and have seen the results of a kid hurt by faulty installed stairs. The beams are called stringers.The standard over hang is 1 inch, but you can go without the over hang.
