how to stop the rear view mirror from rattling on 2008 subaru impreza?

my sub hits so hard that the rear view mirror rattles like crazy and over powers the music. the only way i've found to stop this is by turning the mirror so it faces down. any idea on how to stop this using glue or something?

The rattle is between the windshield and the mirror base, I am assuming.

Pull the mirror off the windshield.

It is designed to come off if hit during an accident.

Looking at the base of the mirror , you will see a pedestal- the edge which is designed to be held by the two pieces of wire, in the mount, on the windshield.

Put a few layers of tape (as in duct tape), ON the pedestal only.( Little circle).
That should snug the mirror mount up and eliminate the rattle when you push the unit back together.
