Looking for a "home remedy" restraint for bathing my cats!?

Is there anything I can find around the house that I can use an an effective (humaine) restraint to avoid getting my eyeballs scratched out while bathing my cats? Adhesive tape? Some kind of makeshift muzzle out of old nylons? Creative people out there.... PLEASE HELP!

WTH; just grab the little critter behind the shoulders and don't let go until you have finished bathing with your free hand. Once the cat realizes that you're not trying to drown it, it should settle down. It helps a great deal if you can do the job quickly as that cuts down the stress to the cat. I also bath my cats in the tub where there is nothing they can latch onto. That tends to settle them down.

Any restraint that I might suggest would just get entangled with the cat anyway. Think of the stress that would result if that were to happen.
