Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 Mini Pro Is Ready For Launch
On the day that the Sony Ericsson X10 finally came to market the new miniature Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 Mini Pro has received its first release date as a SIM Free phone as well as an initial price tag.
The X10 Mini Pro takes many of the original handsets features and technology and shrinks them down into a far smaller handset with a 3.2 inch touch screen as opposed to the large 4.3 inch display of the X10, added to this is a full Qwerty slide out keyboard for those people who like to press physical buttons when entering text rather than the on-screen option.
One big difference between the new X10 Mini Pro and the previous X10 and soon to be launched Sony Ericsson X10 Mini is that the camera has been slightly downgraded from 8.1 mega pixels to 5.0, this also helps to keep the price of this new Android handset low with the initial release price slated at £249.99, compared with the £489.99 asking price of the original X10 model this is a huge discount.
The release date for the SIM Free Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 Mini Pro is now confirmed as May 24th 2010, the Mini version of this handset without the Qwerty keyboard is also rumoured to be launching at around the same time giving consumers a real choice of new, smaller Android phones.
The main display changes slightly from the larger model with the manufacturer using short-cuts in each corner of the screen, they claim that this makes it far easier to select features and applications just using your thumb on the smaller touch screen and these can also be personalised to your favourite programs and functions.
Timescape is Sony Ericsson's new application that has transferred from the original model into the Mini Pro edition, this feature pulls together all of your emails, text messages and social networking updates into one stream which keeps you up to date with all of your friends activities in an organised and useful fashion.
There is still no confirmed release dates for the Sony Ericsson X10 Mini Pro on any of the networks, rumours suggest that they are currently fighting over who will win the lucrative limited exclusive launch period with no clear winners as yet.
The X10 Mini Pro and Mini edition handsets are the smallest Android phones to be announced so far, competition comes from recently launched models such as the HTC Desire and HTC Legend as well as the Motorola Milestone in particular with its similar slide out Qwerty keyboard.
Others include the LG GT540 and Samsung Galaxy Portal, both of which are more affordable options for those on a budget looking for an Android device.
