Keep Cold Air out with Window Air Conditioner Covers

With each year comes the season when we tend to worry about the amount of cold air that enters our homes. Outdoor Carpet Indoors?

I am installing outdoor carpet in my rec room (Indoor/Outdoor). It is much like a turf feel. I want to put underpad below to give a bit more cushion for the feet as it will be in the basement. Can the outdoor carpet be installed like indoor carpet using tack strips to install, or do I have to use adhesive or carpet tape for it? If I have to use the carpet tape, will it be ok to lay the carpet over the underpad and only adhere the edges to the carpet tape or will this cause the capret to buckle with time? Thanks for your help

It all depends on the backing of the carpet. If its woven like a regular carpet ( used to be jute ) you can put pad under it. Use a thin pad, about 8lbs and 3/8 thick. You will need to put down tack strips and install like a normal indoor carpet. If the backing in a thin sprayed on rubbery like you can not put pad under it.
