Installing Water Heater DIY

I know what you think. What the heck is all this water around my water heater? That's when you realized that you had a leak out the bottom of your tank water. It is almost time for Christmas and now you have for new water heater and pay someone for the water heater installation. How can it cost? Can I afford it?

Just follow the instructions in this article and although it may take little more, you should be fine to install the heater yourself.

Equipment and Materials You will need:

Now that we have all our equipment let's get started. The first step is always to close the water line main housing. Next Disable Valley gas at the gas line running to the water heater. Find a floor drain end close and run into the floor drain. Take the threaded end of the hose and connect it to the bottom of the heater, as you connect to the outside. Open the valve (which looks like a hose bib outside) and leave the unit heating begins to empty.

For now go through your house and go on all faucets. Make sure you let the tap in position and you hot and cold on. This will allow all water to drain from the heat much faster.

Although water flows the old heater, Unbox the new water heater. first pipe dope the two shafts coming on top of the unit. Once these screws are doped on new dielectrics. Now you want to put a little Teflon tape and pipe dope on the T & P valve T & P valve to screw on the side water heater please note that some water heaters have the T & P valve screw in the top of the device. This is common as well. You can have need to use your pipe wrench to get that last lap in the tip to the bottom of the valve.

Once the old furnace is finished drain disconnect the gas pipe along the union. The union can be threaded tubes interconnected when working from the ends opposite the threaded tube. The union has a great environment. Now, disconnect the rest of the EU single pipe to where the hose connects valve in the water temperature warms up.

Nevermind the water pipes. First you take the channel locks and the UN vis dielectric of the device as you did the union black. They should unplug all the connections as the gas pipe connection. Cut the dielectric the old copper pipe or others you may have.

Once all hoses are disconnected from the water heater and it does not seem as if There was nothing in the tank, move the old heater to the side to make room for the new reservoir. Do not forget to leave enough room to get the new radiator in place. If you've got a small area you may have to simply remove the old water heater to produce space for the new water heater.

Put the new radiator in place and position it under the existing water pipes. If you notice that you'll need to change some water pipes, let the pipe using the cold water tap of the right conduct and make changes to the brink of hot water.

Now you want to connect water pipes to the radiator. Use accessories, shark bite and install like any other piping. It is possible that you mark the new soldering dielectric your water pipes if you got copper pipe. When soldering dielectrics I recommend you determine the amount of tubing you need your dielectric coupling and cut to length and weld on the ground. It will probably do a better job of welding. You'll also remove the rings belonging to the dielectric so as not to burn them.

Now you know what you need to gas pipe. Connect the gas hose to your heater. If you're lucky, the gas pipe line up without making changes. However, there are many time, you must add or subtract a connection or two. That's why I leave the gas for the end because now I know what I'll need connections to get the hose gas hooked up. The good thing with the gas line is it comes in many different sizes to find the hose is easy to write.

You push the button driver and click the clicker and it'll light the burner. Hold the button driver for about 45 seconds, then turn the heat to a warmer or b can shorten the life of the burner.
