No no, you can't use glue sticks to make paper mache. Sorry. Even if you got them to melt, they would only stay melted for a few seconds, not nearly long enough to work with. The easiest and cheapest paste to make is flour and water. Nothing fancy. You don't need to boil water or anything else. Just mix the two together to the consistency of soup. Make sure it dries well. It might take a couple of days unless you have hot weather and can put it outside.
