Be Prepared With a First Aid Kit for Pets

Many of us have encountered stories about pets that have saved lives. But what about humans helping to save the life of a pet in case of an emergency? It is important to keep a first aid kit for your pet easily accessible both at home and in your car.

Strangest cat behaviour... suggestions?

Ok, I've been fostering rescued cats for 4 years and working in a pet store for 2. So I thought I'd been around the bend when it came to cats but....

Boxing week I adopted a white persian. Behaviour problems, peed everywhere she said. The cat had no problems. The problem she she didn't maintain his coat and his urine would get stuck on HIM!

SOOOOO.... once he was shaved he was great, or was he?

The cat goes crazy to eat any and all human food and its difficult to get him to eat any cat food that is not, or mixed with, Fancy Feast. I caught him one night eating spaghetti sauce out of the pot. The pot was on the stove. It wasn't on, but other burners were. I've pulled him out of popcorn bags, he'll lick the inside. I walked away from my cereal one morning, cat was devouring Special K Vanilla Almond.

He also eats and licks tape or any adhesive.

Any suggestions? Vet says "just keep training him 'NO'"... I'm afraid for the cat's health and safety!

I'm having the exact same problem with the kitten I adopted. The people before you must ave let him eat people food and that's what he likes to eat...Try to keep him away from it all together, I lock my kitten in the bathroom when I'm cooking and I squirt him with a water bottle when he gets in my plate. You just have to be super careful and make sure that popcorn bag that you normally wouldn't think to throw away as soon as you finish had to be thrown out now. I know it sucks, trust me!! My kitten once pulled y 7 dollar quiznos off my coffee table when I went to get a drink from the kitchen...it only took 10 seconds!!

As for chewing tape...my cat does it too. I actually had to pull it out of his mouth a couple times..lol. I asked my vet about it and she said it's just a complex that some cats have. Just make sure they don't get into anything that will hurt them.
