Do you know how to make 'edible' Christmas decorations?

I'd really like to make my own Xmas decorations and I read a recipe for some cookie decorations that use apple sauce, cinnamon and PVA glue, but I can't remember the quantities! I usually make popcorn on a string instead of tinsel, and oranges studded with cloves, are there any other food based decorations I could make?
It's ok, I'm not going to eat any of the decorations! I just want food based ideas to decorate the tree, recipes if possible thanks.

1 really good way to make edible type christmas decs is to make the window cookies... these work really well and are easy to do, they look gorgeous hung up as well. Use hard boiled sweets for the middle bits
