how do you remove glued down linoleum/vinyl from timber floorboards?
linoleum has been well bonded for in excess of 20 years. Will be replaced with carpet which cannot be laid over the top.
Do NOT remove the old flooring, it may have asbestos. Either go over with carpet direct or put down a 3/8 plywood subfloor.
If you still want to remove, have it tested for asbestos first. It will be VERY VERY hard to do. Scrape it by hand. It will take hours, may be days.
