roof liner glue

I am installing a slate tile shower what kind of thinset or glue do i use for the walls?

I am a female trying to show up my husband and i hope i can pull this tile job off by myself! I used roofing felt and mesh and now i am ready for the mortar bed slope but i am not sure about the drain part ... any info on that would help. I will put a liner down and then the backer board. Seal it all with RedGuard and start to tile right? The Home Depot is not all that helpful or correct sometimes. I am going to use thinset on the floors including the shower but i am not sure about the walls to hold that 12 x 12 slate. Any info will help me out ... thank you in advance!

If you've tried HomeDepot without luck. I would recommend looking for more of a local company. For instance as "True Value", "Value Home Center", or a "Hobbs, Do it Yourself". Any of those places are usually alot better on their customer service being as how they aren't big chain stores that employ college dropouts with no experience
