How do I store my coins?

There are two concerns when Discussion storing coins. Firstly, the storage of the single currency and the second storage for a collection of coins, or an entire collection.
Storing a collection of pieces
The environment of the entire collection or group of currencies is the focus, taking into account temperature, humidity and light. A relatively constant, moderate to low temperature and low humidity are preferable for long term storage of numismatic collectibles. Placing packets of silica gel which absorbs moisture in the storage areas of the currency controls the moisture air. Less light, the better, and no sun. Therefore, a safe or vault storage container is definitive, because the controls temperature, light and moisture and provides superior security.
Groups of documents or collections are stored on better in plastic coin boxes, such as those sold by PCGS, NGC and Whitman, who hold 20 separate "Slabbed" coins. Another alternative is a cardboard box storage rooms (single and double, red, blue or black) to be easily stacked on each other. Different sizes are available to plate, as well as Vinyl and Cardboard Flips.
The storage of different currencies
Place holders of currencies is imperative for all coins whose condition is BU and above, or MS60 and higher. Coins below these designations are considered "distributed" because they are in the general circulation of money. This usually means that change in the pocket, or rolls of coins purchased a local bank. Although collecting coins circulated, is a great personal challenge for many collectors, the most serious collectors will focus on "Uncirculated" coins (BU + and MS60 +) because of their better condition (quality), the value and appearance.
Types of containers or stakeholders.
Almost anything will do for small parts or no numismatic value. A piece of a nominal value of dollars only, and should to have much numismatic value. while nearly airtight holders made of inert materials are a better idea of the value of currencies.
Bags, jars and boxes are adequate for raw pocket change and coins in circulation.
Paper Envelopes or Paper Flips of various sizes (usually 2 x 2) to continue using the single currency. Be sure to use envelopes made explicitly for holding coins, otherwise your coins may change color (hue) with due to reaction with sulfur or other chemicals in document time. Given that the currency can not be seen, is now favored by collectors.
Folders and Albums are sold primarily for series and type sets. If used properly, provide moderate protection for the use and management. On the currency year, the tone in May due to reaction with sulfur or other chemicals present in the files and records, and therefore not a good option for long-term storage parts level. While not airtight, are reasonable choices for the parts for a conservative value to be "alone" for several years.
Vinyl Pages (8 ½ x 11) which correspond in 3 rings. Well suited for Cardboard and Vinyl Flips, Jive Records with large front and back of the coin. This is a big favorite.
Mylar-lined Cardboard Flips, often called "2X2S" or cardboard flips. At one point, the most preferred and common use. , But is also available in other sizes are similar to plastic flips. A coin is placed between the two halves, which then folded and stapled (some brands contain an adhesive). The boxes that come in are ideal for storage of multiple components.
Tubes are plastic containers designed to contain a number of pieces of the same size. They come in different sizes for different coins. They are fine for bulk storage of coins in circulation and are suitable for Other grade Uncirculated, BU + and MS60 + Coins. A disadvantage is that currencies can not be viewed without being removed from the tube.
Hard plastic stands are preferable for more valuable pieces. They are self-sealing, and known not to contain substances that parts of harm and offer good protection against scratches, touching and handling, air and chemicals and other physical damage. The sets are available for individuals and small parts, and come in all sizes.
Sonically sealed tile holders are hard plastic parts for the individual. They offer excellent protection. Because the cost to have a coin Slabbed, they generally agree only to the most valuable pieces, ie: BU + and MS60 + Coins.
Although generic patches are available, most often, a slab will be holding a currency that has been professionally accredited and ranking - which has tremendous advantages. Most benefit is buying a currency on the Internet or by phone. Do you know what you get. A part qualified and certified by one of the "Top Four" gives reliability, security and safety. A great advantage over the sellers fraudulently blanks, and not conform to classification societies.
