All You Need To Know About Vinyl Sign Making

Vinyl sign making is one of the most effective yet low cost modes of advertisement. In some cases, jets are controlled by the computer to spray printer ink onto the substrate and create the banners.

Tips about laying vinyl and hardboard?

Can I have some useful tips about tacking hardboard down and then laying vinyl flooring on top of it...

ie... when laying hardboard down, should i allow for heat expansion and therefore not fit it plush to the wall and skirting board??

Any tips on laying vinyl flooring, I have spray adhesive....just wondering about possible bubbles when laying vinyl down...

Depending on what type of sub floor you have concrete or plywood depends on how you will fasten the hardboard to it. If your subfloor is concrete, then you will have to glue it down. If your subfloor is plywood you can glue or nail it down, just be sure to nail securely with a ring shank nail made for your plywood, use plenty of nails and cover the nails heads with a filler. you definately want to leave about a 1/4 inch gap around your walls, don't worry the base board will cover the gap and 1/8 inch gap between each sheet of plywood you lay down. Be sure to stagger the plywood so the seams do not match all the way across your floor. You will have to cut some of the sheets in half. Start your first row by laying a full sheet down first, then lay the half sheet down.Keep alternating until you complete the 1st row. Reverse the process for each row. Fill each seam with a wood filler you can purchase at your hardware/lumber store and sand the seams smooth. I use an all purpose adhesive in a can using a small tooth trowel. You will want to do this in small sections even if your are using 12" square tile or 12' wide roll of vinyl flooring. Once you have laid the tile, go over it with preferably a heavy roller. If one is unavailable, try using the roller from a wall paper kit making sure you press hard to get the air bubbles out. Go over it several tmes. Hope this helped and good luck with your venture.
