Difference In Choices Of Greeting Cards

Greeting cards come in different shapes, colors and patterns. Men, women and children of different age groups have different choices. glitter glue? fabric paint? tye dye?

Anyone familiar with these? I need new ideas and techniques for these products. I am making a "psychedelic" caterpillar costume for my daughter's dance solo. She is the Caterpillar from Alice in Wonderland. I just need some suggestions on designs and which product works best.

I've tried stencils, that didn't work very well because the spray dye ran too much. I've tie dyed a base color and will be using rhinestones to top it off. But I'd rather not just tie dye the whole thing, if you know what I mean.

I'd appreciate any and all suggestions! Thank you!
