How To Build A Garage?

Many homes are constructed with a lot of yard space and a car porch but do not always have a car garage. If you develop the need for a garage, whether it is to safeguard vehicles, store an extra refrigerator or to have an extra storage and work area, a garage is a great add-on to any home. Step two: 1) File for and get the needed permits. 2) Request quotes from subcontractors and suppliers. 3) Place orders for materials and begin the job. How to construct the garage: Step one: Measure your lot and develop site plans. Be sure that you don t plan construction past the boundaries of your land. Step two: If your garage is connected to your home, and depending on the state you live in, a significant amount of digging will be needed to pour the foundation for the garage. Subcontract out this task by getting quotes from various companies and choosing the one that best matches your demands and budget and enter into a contract agreement with with the company. Step three: Bill of goods (Tools and materials) Get a bill of the materials (BOM). This is basically the purchase order of all the materials and tools that will be required to build the garage. The number of materials and the price will increase depending on how many extra features your garage will require. For example, heating, central air, insulation will all increase the scope of you bill of materials. Some hardware shops will have help centers that can approximate all the items you will need for any specific build. Simply bring the measurements into the store and you will be able to leave with an idea or order the items and have them delivered to your building site. Try to get your goods delivered after your base has been poured and cured. Step three: Construct the frame Framing will be based on the plans you made early and will require the layout of the windows and doors that you decided on. The frame will be made from sturdy 2x4 lumber that is cut and hammered into place and will back the walls and roof. Step four: Add the walls and Windows Once your frame is built, start on the walls and windows. Begin with the wall that has the most openings and leave the garage door for last. The wall materials (both inner and exterior) will be assembled on the floor and then raised and nailed into place. The roof and doors: Pre- construct roofing materials make constructing the roof of your garage simple. Simply put together the pieces as instructed to the roofing part of your frame using a ladder, nails and a hammer. Install the door (electric or sliding doors are best) and your garage will be ready to use. Tips and warnings: 1) Be nice to you neighbors before doing construction especially it will inconvenience them. Tree cutting, dust, noise etc. over the weeks of the build might cause them to try to get your work stopped through the home owners associations or even reporting you for false violations. 2) When in doubt: call and inspector Review of work has to be done fairly often on a construction site. The most important ones are after digging, when the foundation is poured and once the frame is set up. It is easier to check often with an inspector than be required to destroy a completed garage later on.

My chest drawer has caved in, please help me find a solution.?

I have tired Monster glue from Home Depot. I know the best solution is the wooden rectangle wedge underneath each drawer which keeps it together. However, this drawer never came with that, like my other chest did. I can't even order separately because it needs to be designed to fit that way. I was thinking about making the wood wedge, maybe having a carpenter make one for me. I was also thinking about ordering "Mitty Putty" as seen on TV. I have seen the reviews & I don't know if it will hold and if it does hold I don't know if it will hold more than 50lbs.

just buy some 1/4 inch moulding and glue to the under side of the drawers. You don't even have to make it look good as it will never be seen. PS....only glue it to one surface so as to allow expantion and contraction.
